Consistent with our mission to assist individuals in reaching, not only their highest competitive potential, but also raising the level of our art, the EUSPBA is proudly offering a number of scholarships to accomplish these goals.

Specifically, we are presenting funding for two types of requests:

  • Lessons
  • Registration fees for a workshop/school

In both of these cases, if your application is approved, the payments will be made directly to the instructor or workshop/school on your behalf.

Here are the current ones:

  • Martin Duffy Scholarship
  • Dan Friz Scholarship
  • Thomas I. Hall Scholarship
  • Firefighter Robert McPadden Scholarship
  • Bob Meade Scholarship
  • Harvey E. Rich Scholarship
  • Andy White Scholarship
  • Margaret M. Wood Scholarship

Here are the qualifications and instructions to submit your application:

  • You must be a current paid EUSPBA member to be eligible for consideration.
  • Complete your name, address, contact information, and EUSPBA information.
  • If you are currently not a competing member, please enter “NO GRADE”
  • If your request is for lessons/instruction, please enter your instructor’s name
  • If your request is to attend a workshop/school, please specify such.
  • Letter of Reference. This is an important part of the scholarship process.  The letter should be from an instructor, music or otherwise (school teacher, e.g.) Someone who knows you well and will support your dedication and/or interest to the Celtic arts.
  • Videos and/or recordings are encouraged, but not mandatory. There will be many applicants.  This is your opportunity to display your current level of proficiency.
  • Finally, describe a bit of your history as it relates to Celtic arts – when/why did you get involved? What are your goals?  What have you done to attain them?
  • Once again, if you are awarded a scholarship, the EUSBPA will pay your instructor or workshop/school directly.
