Ceilidh / Concert by Mac-Talla Mor

The entertainment is kicked off with a bit of magic by Mac-Talla Mor assisted by Geordie Hall.

As you can see, the evening was a LOT of fun!!!

Special Guest Stars

For the first time ever, the Ceilidh featured an appearance by our newest band -
the ECPB, the Executive Committee Pipe Band. Seven members of the EC picked up their
instruments and reminded us that they are not only faithful servants to the association,
but they've got some serious chops too! They put their sets together in a week, and
they sounded great. Thanks for the show, EC!

EUSPBA Championships Reinstated

The Executive Committee of the EUSPBA has voted to reinstate the on field EUSPBA Championships. The championship will be held for grades 2 and 3 this year (2006) with the intention of adding to that in the future. Since the number of grade 2 bands is so small, they will all automatically qualify for the final. Grade 3 will have special branch championship contests to determine which band will qualify for the final.

The committee will consist of the following people:

  • Ward Conolly (Co-Chair)
  • June Hanley (Co-Chair)
  • Bill MacNeil (NE Branch)
  • Pat Martens (Metro Branch)
  • Thompson McConnell (MA Branch)
  • Winkie Taylor (Southern Branch)
  • Sandy Laverock (SW Branch)
  • Barry Conway (OV Branch)

I am happy to announce the Anne Arundel Games have agreed to host this years contest.” (In 2005, the Anne Arundel Games were held on October 8 in Alexandria, VA). “We chose these games for this year because it is later in the season and is located near a couple of airports (for those that have to fly) so finding cheap fares should be fairly easy.

This year will officially be for grade 2 and 3 only however there will be regular contests for grades 4 and 5 as well.

Proposed Prize Money

  • 1ST $3,000.00 $1,500.00
  • 2ND $2,500.00 $1,250.00
  • 3RD $2,000.00 $1,000.00
